Pull Distribution

Pull Distribution Definition

In a pull distribution, also known as a reverse proxy, content is cached on a CDN edge server closest to the user. When a user requests content that is not currently cached on the edge server, the request is forwarded to the origin server. The origin server then sends the content to the CDN, which in turn sends it to the user. This type of distribution can be used for both live and on-demand content.
