Responsible Supply Chain

Responsible Supply Chain Definition

The term “responsible supply chain” can be used to describe a number of different things. In general, it refers to the idea of ensuring that the materials and products that make up a company’s supply chain are sourced and produced in a way that is ethical and sustainable.

This means taking into account the environmental impact of each stage of production, as well as the working conditions and wages of the people involved. It also encompasses issues such as conflict minerals and animal welfare.

In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on responsible supply chains, as consumers become more aware of the issues involved and pressure companies to do better. This has led to a number of initiatives and standards, such as the Responsible Business Alliance’s Code of Conduct and the Fairtrade mark.

As responsible supply chains become more common, it is important for companies to consider them when planning their business operations. This includes thinking about the potential risks and opportunities involved in each stage of production, from sourcing raw materials to selling finished products.
