Settlementdate

Settlement Date – The date on which a security or other financial instrument is delivered and payment is exchanged. Settlement dates are important as they establish when the buyer takes on ownership of the asset and when the seller officially releases it, along with any associated liabilities. Knowing the settlement date for an investment is key in understanding when money and assets will change hands and when profits and losses will be calculated.
