Smart Definition
When most people hear the word “smart,” they think of someone who is intelligent. And while that’s certainly one meaning of the word, it’s not the only one. In fact, there are many different definitions of “smart.”
Here are a few more definitions of “smart”:
•Adjacent to or having a position next to something else; near. (e.g., The smart thing to do would be to take the exit that’s closest to our destination.)
•Attractive and stylish in appearance; fashionable. (e.g., That new suit you bought looks smart on you.)
•Beneficial or advantageous; well-advised. (e.g., It was smart of you to invest in that company when you did.)
As you can see, the word “smart” can have many different meanings depending on the context in which it is used.
