Socialisation Strategies Definition

There are a number of different definitions for socialisation, but at its most basic, socialisation is the process by which we learn to become members of our society. This learning takes place throughout our lives, but is especially important during childhood and adolescence.

During socialisation, we learn the norms and values of our society, and how to interact with others. We also develop the skills and knowledge that we need to function as members of our society. Socialisation is essential for our survival and wellbeing – without it, we would not be able to live in groups or cooperate with others.

There are many different socialisation strategies that people can use to learn about their society and how to interact with others. Some common strategies include: observing and imitating others, trial and error, listening to advice from elders or other experts, and receiving formal instruction (such as in school).
