A Statement of Work (SOW) is a written document between a client and a service provider detailing the conditions, terms, and scope of a particular project. It outlines the expected deliverables and objectives, timelines for work completion, payment methods and any other details related to the project. It’s essentially a contract between two parties that defines expectations and responsibilities so both sides remain on the same page throughout the duration of the project. Making sure both parties understand their individual roles, as well as what they can expect from one another ensures all stakeholders involved in a given project are clear on their duties and expectations.
