Total Asset Turnover Definition

Total asset turnover is a measure of how efficiently a company uses its assets to generate sales. The total asset turnover ratio is calculated by dividing a company’s sales by its total assets.

A high total asset turnover ratio indicates that a company is generating a lot of sales from its assets. A low total asset turnover ratio indicates that a company is not using its assets efficiently to generate sales.
