Traffic Light (Or Rag) Method Definition
The traffic light or rag method is a system used to prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance. It is often used in project management, and can be adapted to personal productivity systems.
The traffic light method gets its name from the way it visually represents the priority of tasks with colors. Red is used for tasks that are urgent and need to be completed immediately, yellow is used for tasks that are important but not urgent, and green is used for tasks that are neither urgent nor important.
The rag method is similar to the traffic light method, but uses a different set of colors to represent the urgency and importance of tasks. In this system, red is used for tasks that are both urgent and important, orange is used for tasks that are important but not urgent, yellow is used for tasks that are neither urgent nor important, and green is used for tasksthat can be delegated or put off.
Both methods can be adapted to any personal productivity system, and can be helpful in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
