Union

Union Definition

A union is an organization of workers who have banded together to achieve common goals such as better working conditions. The first recorded unions were in Ancient Greece. In the United Kingdom, the term ‘trade union’ may be used more broadly to refer to any organization representing workers, including professional associations.

In the United States, unions are usually organized around a particular trade or industry, such as automobile manufacturing or steel production. Unions typically advocate for better wages, benefits, and working conditions for their members. They may also engage in political activity and lobbying on behalf of their members or causes that promote worker rights.
