Unrealised Strategy Definition
A strategy is only as good as its implementation. In other words, a strategy is only successful if it is carried out in a way that achieves the desired results. If a strategy is not implemented properly, it is said to be unrealised.
There are many reasons why a strategy may not be realised. It could be that the organisation lacks the resources or capability to implement it. It could be that there was never a clear plan for how to implement the strategy in the first place. Or it could be that political infighting within the organisation gets in the way of progress.
Whatever the reason, an unrealised strategy is a wasted opportunity. It’s important to learn from your mistakes and ensure that future strategies are given every chance of success by being well planned and resourced from the outset.
