Up Time Definition

‘Up time’ is a term used to describe the operational status of a system or device. It is typically measured as a percentage of total operating time, and is often used as a metric for determining the reliability or stability of a system.

For example, if a system has an up time of 99%, it means that the system is operational 99% of the time. This can be translated to mean that the system is down for 1% of the time, or about 87.6 hours per year.

Up time can also be affected by factors such as maintenance windows, scheduled downtime, and unexpected outages.
