Weighting Definition
In statistics, weighting is the process of assigning importance to different data points in order to calculate a final value. This is often done with survey data, where each respondent is given a weight based on their importance or relevance to the overall population.
Weighting can also be used in other areas of data analysis, such as when creating an index value from multiple components. In this case, each component is assigned a weight based on its importance to the final index.
