The role of a Financial Controller is to provide expertise on all financial matters within an organization. As the financial leader, a Financial Controller is responsible for developing and monitoring financial systems, processes, and controls in accordance with best practice guidelines. Duties range from budgeting and forecasting to review of monthly and quarterly results, analyzing cash flow and optimizing working capital, preparing financial statements and reports, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Financial Controller must also be diligent in keeping up with developments in the financial industry so that they can ensure the company’s financial practices are current, effective and compliant.
