Minimum Order Quantity (Moq)
The Minimum Order Quantity, or MOQ, is the smallest order quantity that a supplier is willing to accept for a particular item. This can be due to the minimum amount of raw materials needed to produce the item, the minimum amount of labor required to produce the item, or simply the minimum amount that the supplier is willing to sell.
The MOQ definition can vary depending on the industry and product. For example, in the apparel industry, suppliers often have different MOQs for different garment styles. In general, though, MOQs are usually between 100 and 5,000 pieces per style.
Suppliers may be willing to negotiate their MOQs, especially if you’re a new customer or you’re ordering a large quantity of items. It’s always worth asking if there’s any flexibility on the MOQ; even a small reduction can make a big difference in your overall costs.
