Procurement Exercise
There are many different types of procurement exercises, but they all have one goal in common: to get the best value for the organization.
Procurement exercises can be divided into three main categories: solicited, unsolicited, and direct purchase.
1. Solicited Procurement Exercises
Solicited procurements are usually conducted through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Organizations send out an RFP to potential suppliers, who then submit proposals outlining their ability to meet the organization’s needs. The organization then evaluates the proposals and selects the supplier that provides the best value.
2. Unsolicited Procurement Exercises
Unsolicited procurements occur when an organization receives a proposal from a supplier without having asked for it. These types of procurements are less common than solicited procurements, but they can still be used to identify good suppliers.
3. Direct Purchase Procurement Exercises
Direct purchase procurements are conducted when an organization buys goods or services directly from a supplier, without going through a competitive bidding process. This type of procurement is typically used for routine purchases or when there is only one source for the desired goods or services.
