Incentive

Incentive Definition

Incentives are a type of reinforcement that are used to increase the likelihood of a desired behavior. They can be in the form of rewards (positive reinforcement) or punishments (negative reinforcement). The most common type of incentive is a financial one, but others include privileges, status, access, and power. In order for an incentive to be effective, it must be appealing to the individual and given at the right time.
