SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals set by the United Nations to address humanity’s most pressing and complex challenges. The SDGs are a call to action for all countries – both developed and developing – in order to create sustainable progress in terms of social, economic and environmental development. In the field of procurement, these goals represent an ongoing effort to maximize value and minimize waste in supply chains. This is done through encouraging responsible consumer practices, optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness, supporting local businesses and ethical sourcing, and reducing emissions and waste wherever possible. By adopting a strategy geared towards sustainable development objectives, organizations can make substantial improvements to their sustainability profiles and ultimately benefit from long-term savings.
