If you buy for a small business and want to send RFQs to suppliers without paying for software, there are two genuinely free options: oboloo, which is free forever with unlimited users, and PowerRFP, whose free plan lets you run five projects at a time. Every other tool we looked at either charges from about $5 per user a month or offers a free trial rather than a free plan. Email and a spreadsheet still work for the odd quote, but they get messy once you are comparing more than three or four suppliers.
Full disclosure: oboloo is our product. We have tried to be straight about where other tools fit better, and we checked every price below on the vendor's own pricing page on 15 October 2026.
| Tool | Free plan | Paid from | Best for |

oboloo's free plan includes all four core modules: sourcing (RFQs, RFIs and RFPs), supplier management, contract management and savings tracking. There is no cap on users and no card needed. You create an RFQ and send suppliers a link to a portal, where they answer your questions and upload their pricing without creating an account. Suppliers can ask questions during the event, and you compare their responses side by side. Sourcing Plus, at $25 per user a month billed annually, adds reusable RFQ templates, supplier questionnaires and weighted scoring, so you can set how much price, quality and risk count before any bids arrive. All Plus plans come with a 14-day free trial.
Where it fits less well: if you only ask for one quote a year, any tool on this list is more than you need.
PowerRFP's free Starter plan gives you unlimited RFP projects, with up to five live at once, plus a built-in scorecard and side-by-side bid comparison. Its pricing page talks about RFPs rather than RFQs, so check it handles a quick price request the way you want. The Pro plan is $25 a month billed yearly.
AuraVMS is built around RFQs: unlimited RFQs, anonymous bidding and side-by-side quote comparison. There is no free plan, but the Small Team plan is $4.99 per user a month billed annually, for a single user, and there is a free trial (its length is not stated). Good value if one person runs all your quotes.
Market Dojo is a well-known UK eSourcing tool. Its Quick Quotes product for RFQs costs £100 a month billed annually, and full sourcing starts at £500 a month, or £1,000 for a single event. It suits teams that need eAuctions or formal tenders more than small teams looking for something free.
Team Procure's RFQ plan costs $500 a month and includes three users, with a 14-day free trial. It also sells a procurement suite for requisitions and purchase orders.
Tradogram is mainly a purchase order tool. Its Essentials plan is $99 a month, and sourcing (RFx) is listed as an add-on with no published price.
Prokuria covers RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and auctions with side-by-side comparison, and suppliers can respond without creating a login. It does not publish prices or offer a free plan, so you book a demo to find out.
If you send one or two RFQs a year to a few suppliers you already know, a spreadsheet and email are fine. Our free RFQ spreadsheet gives you a ready-made layout for lining up prices and terms. Once you are chasing more suppliers, more often, a free tool will save you time.
Yes. oboloo is free forever with unlimited users, and PowerRFP's Starter plan is free for up to five live projects. Most other RFQ tools offer a free trial, not a free plan.
An RFI (request for information) gathers information about suppliers before you buy. An RFQ (request for quotation) asks for prices on something you have already specified. An RFP (request for proposal) asks suppliers how they would meet a need, and is usually scored on more than price.
Agree your criteria and their weights before the quotes arrive, for example price 50%, quality 30% and delivery 20%. Score every supplier against the same criteria and note why. Our guide to supplier scoring shows how weighted scoring works. For a worked example, see how to compare supplier quotes side by side.
Not if you only send one or two a year. Beyond that, the chasing, the version control and the comparison usually take longer than setting up a free tool.
Yes. oboloo's free plan works the same for charities, and registered charities and non-profits get 50% off paid plans, for good. See procurement software for charities.
