Receipt Of Goods, Goods Receipt Note
When goods are delivered to a company, they must be accompanied by a document called a Goods Receipt Note (GRN). This is a simple form that records the date and time of delivery, the name of the supplier, the quantity and type of goods received, and the signature of the person who received them.
The GRN is an important document for two reasons. First, it acts as proof that the goods have been received. This is important for both accounting and legal purposes. Second, it provides a record of what has been received, which can be used for quality control purposes.
Once the goods have been checked and accepted, they will be added to the company’s stock levels. The GRN will then be filed away for future reference.
