Breakdown Analysis Definition

A breakdown analysis is a tool that can be used to identify the root cause of a problem. It is also known as a cause and effect diagram or a fishbone diagram. The main purpose of a breakdown analysis is to help find solutions to problems by identifying the underlying causes.

There are many different methods of conducting a breakdown analysis, but the most common one is to start with a problem statement and then brainstorm all of the potential causes. Once all of the potential causes have been identified, they can be prioritized and further analyzed to determine which one is the most likely root cause.

The benefits of using a breakdown analysis include being able to identify problems early on, before they become too costly or difficult to fix. Additionally, it can help prevent future problems by addressing the root cause instead of just treating the symptoms.
