Tertiary Sector Definition

The tertiary sector is the third tier of economic activity in a country or region, after the primary sector (which include agriculture, fishing, forestry, and mining) and the secondary sector (which include manufacturing and construction). The tertiary sector comprises the “service industry” – i.e. all work that produces services rather than physical products. Examples of industries within the tertiary sector include:
