Import your data

Bring your suppliers and contracts in, mapped to your own fields.

Upload a CSV, map your columns to oboloo’s fields and to your own custom fields, see every row validated before anything is created, fix what is wrong, then create them all at once.

The oboloo way

Getting your data in should not be a migration project.

The difference between months of copy-paste and a mapped CSV you can check before you commit to it.

The old way
  • A migration project, scoped and quoted before a single record moves.
  • Suppliers and contracts retyped into the new system one at a time.
  • Months of copy-paste, with the typos nobody finds until much later.
  • Industry, location and payment terms pasted in as free text that matches nothing.
  • The fields your organisation added left behind, because the import cannot see them.
  • Errors found after the records already exist, and cleaned up by hand.

The oboloo way.
  • Upload a CSV and map your own column headings to oboloo’s fields.
  • Standard supplier and contract fields and your own custom fields, both mappable.
  • Industry, location and payment terms checked against the options you already use.
  • Clear per-row errors, so you fix the spreadsheet rather than the records.
  • Bulk-create everything in one pass, and only with the Import Data permission.

How it works

From spreadsheet to records in three steps.

Upload a CSV, pair your column headings with oboloo’s standard fields and with the custom fields you added yourself, see every row validated against your own configuration, then create the records in one pass.

1

Upload and map your columns

Point oboloo at a CSV and pair each of your column headings with the field it belongs to: oboloo’s standard supplier and contract fields, and the custom fields your organisation has added.

2

Validated before anything is created

Dropdown values such as industry, location and payment terms are checked against your existing configuration, and anything that will not import is listed row by row with the reason.

3

Create them all at once

When the data is right, every record is created in one pass. The tool sits under Settings and is restricted to users with the Import Data permission.

Why choose us

Nothing is created until you have seen what will be.

A mapped file, validated row by row against your own configuration, and created only once you are happy with it.

Map to your own fields

Standard supplier and contract fields and the custom fields your organisation has added are both mappable, with validation applied according to each custom field’s type.

See the errors before the records

Preview and validate the whole file first. Every problem is reported against the row it is on, with the reason, so you correct the spreadsheet rather than the records.

Checked against your configuration

Dropdown values such as industry, location and payment terms are matched against the options you have already set up, instead of arriving as free text.

Controlled by permission

The Import Data tool sits under Settings and runs only for users who hold the Import Data create permission, so bulk creation is not open to everyone.

More features

Data import features.

Everything the Import Data tool does, from mapping your own column headings through per-row validation to creating the records in one pass.

An import tool under Settings

Upload a CSV from the Import Data screen under Settings. No migration project, no import consultant and no integration work to get your existing records in.

Suppliers and contracts

Import supplier records and contract records from a spreadsheet, using the same upload, mapping and validation steps for both.

Map your columns to oboloo’s fields

Pair each heading in your spreadsheet with the oboloo field it belongs to. Your file does not have to be renamed, reordered or reformatted first.

Map to your own custom fields

The custom fields your organisation has added are mappable too, so the things you already track come across with everything else rather than being left behind.

Validated by field type

Each custom field is validated according to its own type, so a date column cannot arrive as free text and a number column cannot arrive as a word.

Checked against your configuration

Values for fields such as industry, location and payment terms are matched against the options you have already set up, rather than being created as free text.

Preview before anything is created

See the mapped data as oboloo has read it and confirm it is right before a single record exists. Nothing is created until you say so.

Clear per-row errors

Problems are reported against the row they are on, with the reason, so you correct the spreadsheet and upload again instead of hunting through records afterwards.

Restricted by permission

Only users with the Import Data create permission can run an import, so bulk record creation is not open to everyone with an account.

Quick answers

Importing your data FAQs.

A CSV. Upload it on the Import Data screen under Settings, then map its columns to oboloo’s fields as part of the import.
Yes. Supplier imports and contract imports both run from a CSV, using the same column mapping and the same validation.
Yes. The custom fields your organisation has added can be mapped alongside the standard fields, and each one is validated according to its own field type.
They are checked against the options already configured in your account. A value that does not match is flagged against the row it is on, with the reason, instead of being created as free text.
Only users with the Import Data create permission. The tool sits under Settings, so bulk creation stays with the people you have given that permission to.
