Supplier scorecard software and a free weighted template (2026)

A supplier scorecard rates each supplier against a few weighted criteria, such as quality, delivery, price and service, so you can compare suppliers fairly and spot problems early. A small team can start with the template below. Once you score more than a handful of suppliers, or want suppliers to fill in part of the scorecard themselves, software saves a lot of chasing. oboloo lets you build weighted scorecards and track scores over time with Supplier Plus, at $28 per user a month on top of its free-forever plan. EvaluationsHub, Kodiak Hub and Gatekeeper suit larger supplier performance programmes, and Tradogram includes weighted scorecards in a purchasing tool from $99 a month.

Full disclosure: oboloo is our product. We checked what each vendor says on its own site on 15 October 2026.

A simple weighted supplier scorecard

Pick four to six criteria, give each a weight, and make the weights add up to 100%. Score each criterion from 1 to 5, multiply by the weight, and add them up.

CriterionWhat you measureWeightScore (1 to 5)Weighted score
QualityDefects, returns, rework30%41.20
DeliveryOn time and in full25%51.25
PriceAgainst quote and market20%30.60
ServiceResponsiveness, account management15%40.60
ComplianceInsurance and certificates in date10%50.50
Total100%4.15 out of 5 (83%)

Write down what each score means before you start, for example "5 = 98% or more delivered on time, 3 = 90 to 95%, 1 = under 85%". Without that, two people will score the same supplier differently.

How to choose the weights

  • Start with what hurts most when it goes wrong. For a food supplier that might be quality. For a logistics partner, delivery.
  • Keep price below 30% for ongoing scorecards. Price matters most when you choose a supplier. Once they are on contract, how they perform matters more.
  • Use the same scorecard for suppliers in the same category, so the scores are comparable. Different categories can have different weights.
  • Review the weights once a year, not every time a supplier scores badly.

The tools in more detail

oboloo

oboloo is free-forever procurement software for SMEs and charities. Its supplier scorecards let you create criteria for anything you want to evaluate and apply weightings so scores reflect what matters most. You can assign different scorecards to different suppliers or categories, and let suppliers complete a scorecard themselves, with internal review and scoring before anything counts. Scores are tracked over time, so you can see whether a supplier is getting better or worse. Scorecards sit on the supplier record in oboloo's supplier management software, next to their documents, compliance and contracts. Scorecards come with Supplier Plus, at $28 per user a month billed annually, with a 14-day free trial.

EvaluationsHub

EvaluationsHub is a supplier performance platform aimed at enterprise procurement teams. It offers close to 100 scoring methods, weighted KPIs, monthly to annual review cycles, a module for quarterly business reviews, corrective actions and a supplier portal. Pricing is per supplier rather than per user, and internal and supplier users are free. Prices are not published, and you can try a free sandbox with no time limit.

Kodiak Hub

Kodiak Hub offers supplier scorecards with customisable KPIs and rating schemes, and pulls in data from stakeholder evaluations, ERP systems and suppliers. It also handles supplier self-assessments, particularly for ESG. Prices are not published.

Gatekeeper

Gatekeeper's balanced scorecards send scheduled surveys to the people who work with each vendor, track KPI adherence and flag problems with red, amber and green alerts. Scorecards are included in the Enterprise and Enterprise Plus plans but not in Pro. Prices are not published.

Tradogram

Tradogram is a purchasing platform with weighted supplier scorecards that track delivery times, pricing accuracy and quality. The Essentials plan is $99 a month, or $950.40 a year, with an extra charge for additional users. Its pricing page does not say which plan includes scorecards.

Supplier scorecards vs RFP scoring

They use the same idea, weighted criteria, for different jobs:

  • RFP or bid scoring helps you choose a supplier. You score the responses to a tender or RFQ, usually with price weighted more heavily. See supplier scoring.
  • A supplier scorecard measures a supplier you already use, on a regular cycle, usually quarterly or annually.

FAQs

What is a supplier scorecard?

A simple report that rates a supplier against agreed criteria, such as quality, delivery, price and service, using weights that reflect what matters most to you. It is usually updated every quarter or year.

What should be on a supplier scorecard?

Four to six criteria you can measure: typically quality, on-time delivery, price, service and compliance. Add sustainability or innovation if they matter for that category.

How do you weight a supplier scorecard?

Give each criterion a percentage so they add up to 100%, with the most important at the top. A common starting point is quality 30%, delivery 25%, price 20%, service 15% and compliance 10%.

How often should you score suppliers?

Quarterly for your most important suppliers, and once a year for the rest. Score more often for a short time if a supplier is having problems.

Can suppliers fill in their own scorecard?

Yes. A self-assessment is a good way to collect evidence, such as certifications or delivery figures. It should always be reviewed internally before the score counts.
